AutoUI 2025 will be hosted in Brisbane, Australia, at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Gardens Point Campus. Brisbane has emerged as a hub for the development and testing of automated vehicle technologies, with local initiatives and partnerships driving innovation in the field.

QUT is recognised as one of Australia’s leading modern universities, ranked 17th globally and 3rd in Australia in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2024. Conveniently located in Brisbane’s city centre, the Gardens Point Campus is surrounded by diverse accommodation options, all within walking distance. We look forward to welcoming the AutoUI community to this vibrant and dynamic setting for AutoUI 2025!

Conference Address

The main venue for the AutoUI 2025 is The Cube and an adjacent lecture theatre, located within the QUT Science and Engineering Centre (SEC). The Cube is one of the world’s largest digital interactive learning and display spaces consisting of 26 multi-touch screens and soaring across two storeys in QUT’s Science and Engineering Centre. The Cube delivers unique interactive digital learning experiences that communicate science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) concepts and bring research to the public. The Cube will facilitate highly interactive and engaging poster sessions during the conference.

Other events will be held in Room Three Sixty, a stylish top-floor venue at Gardens Point. With floor-to-ceiling windows, a bar, and two outdoor terraces, it offers stunning views of the Brisbane River, Kangaroo Point Cliffs, and the City Botanic Gardens, making it an ideal setting for networking and social gatherings.

Parking

For those travelling by car, P Block provides two levels of public parking for convenience. Entry to the car park is via the roundabout on Gardens Point Road. Pedestrians can access the car park through lifts located outside the building, near the food court. For more details on casual parking rates and other parking locations on campus, click here.

Public Transportation

QUT is committed to sustainability, encouraging visitors to access Gardens Point via bus, train, CityCat (ferry), or taxi. The campus features its own CityCat terminal and is just a short walk from Central and South Bank train stations, as well as King George Square and Queen Street bus stations. Public transport in South-East Queensland is efficiently managed by TransLink. The Gardens Point campus is conveniently situated within walking distance of Brisbane’s CBD.
Free shuttle bus: Staff and students can take advantage of a free shuttle bus that runs frequently between the Kelvin Grove and Gardens Point campuses. For added convenience and safety, a free night shuttle service is also available, circulating the campus and servicing major on-site car parks.

Brisbane CBD

Brisbane’s Central Business District (CBD) is a vibrant blend of modernity and heritage, offering a wealth of attractions. The Queen Street Mall serves as the city’s retail heart, featuring over 500 brands, cafes, and restaurants in a lively pedestrian setting. Brisbane City Hall, an iconic landmark with its historic clock tower, houses the Museum of Brisbane and offers breathtaking views from its observation deck. Alongside these highlights, the CBD boasts the serene City Botanic Gardens (next to Gardens Point Campus!), the bustling Riverside precinct with fine dining and river views, and a thriving arts and cultural scene.

Southbank

Explore Brisbane’s vibrant cultural and recreational precinct, located along the picturesque Brisbane River. Renowned for its parklands, bustling dining scene, and iconic landmarks such as the Wheel of Brisbane, it offers something for everyone. Visitors can relax on Streets Beach, Australia’s only inner-city human-made beach, or explore world-class galleries and museums, including the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA). With regular markets, events, and its proximity to the city centre, South Bank is a dynamic hub that captures Brisbane’s lively spirit and charm.

Howard Smith Wharves

Rapidly becoming one of Brisbane’s most popular dining and social hub, Howard Smith Wharves is a lively riverside precinct nestled beneath Brisbane’s iconic Story Bridge. featuring a variety of restaurants, bars, boutique venues, and stunning views of the Brisbane River and city skyline. The precinct’s restored heritage buildings and open green spaces provide a unique backdrop for social gatherings, events, and leisurely strolls along the riverwalk.

Fortitude Valley

Brisbane’s dynamic cultural and entertainment hub, blending eclectic nightlife with sophisticated urban experiences. At its heart lies James Street, a premier lifestyle precinct renowned for its high-end fashion boutiques, artisan homewares, and award-winning dining options. Lone Pine Sanctuary

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary offers a unique chance to encounter Australia’s iconic wildlife. Located in Fig Tree Pocket, visitors can meet koalas, feed kangaroos, and spot cassowaries, pink cockatoos, and the elusive platypus.

Mt Coot-tha Lookout

Take in breathtaking panoramic views of Brisbane and its surrounding areas, stretching out to Moreton Bay and the distant ranges. The lookout provides a serene escape with scenic walking trails, eucalypt forests, and picnic spots and is located just a short drive from the city centre. Also within the locale is the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha, and the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium.

Moreton Bay

A stunning coastal region renowned for its crystal-clear waters, diverse marine life, and picturesque islands, including Moreton Island and North Stradbroke Island. Moreton Island, a pristine sand island, is famous for its Tangalooma Wrecks, dolphin feeding experiences, and adventure activities such as sandboarding. North Stradbroke Island, affectionately known as “Straddie,” offers beautiful beaches, walking trails, and opportunities to spot migrating whales. Hinterland and National Parks

The South East Queensland hinterland is a region of breathtaking natural beauty, featuring lush rainforests, dramatic escarpments, and an abundance of wildlife. Renowned national parks such as Lamington, Springbrook, and Tamborine Mountain to the south and D’aguilar and Glass House Mountains to the north offer a network of walking trails, cascading waterfalls, and ancient Gondwana rainforests, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Gold Coast

The Gold Coast is a world-renowned destination celebrated for its stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife, and iconic surf culture. Stretching along 57 kilometres of coastline, it offers pristine sands and surf breaks, with favourites like Surfers Paradise and Burleigh Heads drawing visitors year-round. Beyond the beaches, the Gold Coast boasts an array of attractions, including thrilling theme parks, high-end shopping precincts, and a lively dining scene.

Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art offers two premium, exclusive evening experiences that immerse guests in the unique art and culture of Queensland’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. First Artists: Exceptional Indigenous Art & Dining Experience for 10-25 guests. First Artists: Evening Indigenous Experience for a minimum of 30 guests.
