Welcome to AutoUi'19
AutomotiveUI (or short: AutoUI) is the International ACM SIGCHI Conference on Automotive User Interfaces and Interactive Vehicular Applications. It is the premier forum for UI research in the automotive domain. The conference annually brings together over 200 researchers and practitioners interested in both the technical and the human aspects of in-vehicle user interfaces and applications, to provide a forum for the exchange of technical information concerning research (and practice) and educational activities for motor vehicle user interface development. We have multiple meeting categories in which researchers, practitioners, and other interested parties can take part in our conference and community. We welcome you to engage with us in this exciting field!
The main language of our conference is English, and you can find detailed English descriptions of the various tracks in our “Call for papers”. Each track is either peer-reviewed, or juried. This is always done by expert researchers from the international and interdisciplinary Auto-UI community, and coordinated by specific co-chairs in liaison with the Technical Program Chairs and General Chairs.
The proceedings of our conference are published by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the world's largest educational and scientific computing society, in their digital library.
If you are active in the Auto-UI domain, for example of researcher, designer, or practitioner, yet new to the conference, we want to suggest the following submission categories as suitable to get to know and engage with the Auto-UI community:
Work-in-progress: A session where your most recent research is presented on a poster, allowing for fruitful discussions with peers. Our community can give you feedback at the conference on this work.
Demonstrations: If you can bring a demonstration of something you developed or designed, you can showcase this during our dedicated demo session.
Videos: If your work allows for an engaging video summary, you can submit a video.
Workshops and tutorial: the ideal place to get together with a group of experts to discuss an automotive topic that you care about in detail. Past experience showed that workshops benefit when organizers from different countries are involved. Our workshop chairs are happy to help connect you.
Doctoral Colloquium: If you are a PhD student who wants to engage with the Auto-UI community, but perhaps has limited opportunities to do so at your own university, this is a perfect platform.
Each of these platforms is juried, and requires a written submission. More details and selection criteria can be found on our submissions page.
If you are a student on a limited budget, you might want to explore ACM’s funding schemes as described on our Student Travel Funds page.
